Plain. Simple. Heart to Heart.

She Hath Done What She Could

One thing that has blessed me personally, as much as anything in the gospel accounts of the woman that poured the alabaster box of very precious ointment on Jesus’, is what Jesus said of her in Mark 14:8. “She hath done what she could.” Whether the ointment was worth 30 bucks or 30 grand, Jesus commended her for doing what she could. Even if what you can do seems like nothing compared to what others can do, the Lord is still pleased if you do what you can.
Now, if that woman was wealthy, and gave him that very expensive alabaster box of ointment as a gift, about everybody there may have been OK with that, maybe even touched, …except Jesus. He knew what was in her heart, and what she could do, and if she had held back her love, maybe because of what people would think, the gift would have meant nothing.
God has made us all unique, and planted us in different circumstances, and given us different abilities, but He’s asking us all to do what we can. Especially, don’t hold back on showing Him your love.
