Regardless of who started the fight, or whether you’re on defense or offense, what do you do when that battle is won? What if Gen. Patton had let his tanks rest when they had overcome the enemy at some battle, and waited for the enemy to regroup and attack again? They overcame by pushing ahead as far and fast as their fuel would allow, to attack the next line of resistance before the enemy could organize a good defense.
If we say we’re pressing, but we’re not meeting any resistance, from the flesh, the world, the darkness around us, or the devil himself, it’s not time to relax and proclaim victory. It’s time to fuel up on the Word and the Spirit, get it in high gear, and take as much ground as we can, as fast as we can, and go find the enemy’s next line of resistance. Then overcome, and repeat, and repeat again, till the war is won forever.
