Psalm 123. I Lift Up Mine Eyes

Psalm 123 [KJV]

“Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.

2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the Lord our God, until that he have mercy upon us.

3 Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.

4 Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.”

Keep your eyes on God in heaven. Be that faithful servant with your eyes on your Master, watching and quick to fulfill His every desire. Humbly cry out to Him for His mercies.

When you do, those that are at ease will scorn you; and the proud will despise you, and pour out their contempt on you. Don’t be shocked. Don’t let it discourage you. Keep your eyes on the Master! HE is the one you need to please!

And He WILL pour out His mercy, which is SO much more than forgiving your sins, and delivering you from trouble. It includes bringing us into His presence, pure and clean, saturated with His glory …we in Him, and He in us!

Unto THEE, Lord, I lift up mine eyes!
