A 14-yr old girl recently sold a diamond for $20,000 that she found at Arkansas’ Crater of Diamonds State Park. After digging and sifting in the search field for about 2 hours, she spotted it just lying on the surface. She was quoted as saying, “”I thought it was a piece of paper or foil from a candy wrapper. Then, when I touched it, I thought it was a marble. I think God pointed me to it. I was about to sprint to join my family, and God told me to slow down and look. Then, I found the diamond!”Like so often we work so hard to dig up the deep, hidden treasures of God, when right there on the surface, in plain sight, are His diamonds. We just have to lay aside our preconceived ideas of what His will looks like, or what He’s going to say, or how He’s going to say it. Then slow down, listen to His voice, and obey.And sure, there’s a time for digging, too. But you’ll find a lot more true treasures when you’re seeking to find what God wants, than digging for the treasure you want.
