So go the words from a song the kids used to sing in church. But is it true?
Do you have to be perfect to go to heaven?
If so, how do you get to be perfect?
Are you perfect now?
Are you righteous now?
How do you get to be righteous?
Are ALL your sins forgiven?
Do you have to confess every sin to get saved?
For sins committed after you’re saved, do you have to confess each and every sin to be forgiven?
For sins committed after you’re saved, can the record ever be completely, totally wiped clean?
Can you be forgiven of all your sins by a “blanket” confession? (If I’ve ever done anything, or said anything, or thought anything that’s not right, forgive me.)
Do you go to hell, if there’s an unconfessed sin in your life when you die?
Where does the blood of Jesus Christ fit in? What sins does it wash away?
What is “justification”? Where, when, and how does it apply?
Do you KNOW, right NOW, that you have eternal life?
HOW do you know?
These are not “foolish and unlearned questions”. There should be no strife or confusion about any of these. God wants us to have CONFIDENCE and ASSURANCE, so He’s made it all plain in His Word. We are talking about ETERNAL LIFE! Is there anything more important?
Finally, what if you’re wrong? When will you find out? Do you really want to put your eternal life or eternal torment on the line, for a hope-so, think-so answer? God has a KNOW-so answer for you. Ask Him.
