I Want More of God!

I WANT MORE OF GOD!

There I did it! I just admitted that I don’t have all of God. I mean, it’s not like I only have half of God living in me, or I’m only filled with half of the Holy Ghost. But you know what I mean. There’s a whole lot of God that I haven’t yet touched, or seen, or heard, or tasted, or understood.

So how much am I missing? I have no idea. But, since God can’t be measured, or weighed, I know it’s got to be HUGE! I’d say what I’ve experienced of God is pretty tiny! Don’t get me wrong. I’m not complaining. That tiny bit I have experienced has seemed humongous… amazing… awesome! But that just makes me HUNGRY for more!

So what’s the problem? Why don’t I have more of God?

Well… the fact is… God’s holding back on me! Yep. That’s right. And He’s hiding stuff from me. Really. It has to do with Him being a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. (Heb.11:6) Hey! I’ve BEEN seeking Him. Diligently! But He keeps giving me just a little more… not the whole thing. Now, His “little” is a LOT, but I want it ALL! So I’ll tell you what… I’m going to keep on seeking, and knocking, and asking, and seeking some more. Even just a LITTLE more of God is worth it! So I’m going to seek Him a LOT! And I ain’t gonna quit! Eventually, He’s going to have to give me a glorified body, to be able to handle it all.

I guess that’s His point. He wants me to keep seeking Him, so He holds back, and only gives me a little at a time. And if I quit seeking, He probably wouldn’t give me much of anything. Makes sense. I want Him, and He wants me. So we both want to keep it going.

Hey, think about it. Would you seek Him a LOT, if He gave everything to you for just seeking a little? Would you fast and pray, if you could get just as much WITHOUT fasting and praying? Or without obeying? Or without giving, or laying down your life?

Now there’s a lot God has done for us, and given us, with absolutely no effort or qualification on our part. We didn’t deserve or earn what Jesus did for us on the cross of Calvary. But God is STILL a REWARDER!

How much we truly believe that, can be directly measured by how much we SEEK Him! Unless maybe you’re satisfied with how much you have of God. NOT ME! Oh God, I WANT MORE!
